The General Issues Committee (GIC), in a 9-6 vote on Wednesday February 15, have reversed the Light Rail Transit (LRT) subcommittee’s decision to add an LRT stop at Bay Street.
Councillor Johnson supported a stop at Bay Street citing economic benefits and in his view, the changes strengthen the ground on which LRT stands.
The CBC Hamilton is polling its online readers: 'Should councillors have supported a Bay Street LRT stop?' as of 11am, February 17, 668 votes have been received with 78% of respondents answering "Yes". A link to the article and poll is below.
