Victoria Park Butterfly Garden

We are sad to report that plants are being stolen from the Victoria Park Butterfly Garden.

So far the plants that have been stolen include:

  • a 6 foot multi-stemmed Serviceberry
  • several Moss Phlox (Phlox subulata) - pink flowering variety
  • several Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia) - a very rare native perennial!
  • a Prickly Pear Cactus
  • a 5 foot Bur Oak tree (since putting up signage about the missing plants this tree has returned)

The garden is funded by the Hamilton Naturalists' Club and is maintained through volunteer labour.

We are the public to report any suspicious activity happening in your neighbourhood to police.  To report a non-emergency crime, please call 905-546-4925 or attend your nearest police station.  Central Station is located at 155 King William Street, Hamilton.
