Over the past ten years, the Hamilton community has experienced over 2,000 residential and commercial Break and Enters annually. The objective of Safeguard Hamilton is to have specially trained Hamilton Police Service Auxiliary Officers conduct free residential and small business security audits using the principals of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
This free educational service provides home and small business owners useful suggestions and advice in how to best guard against potential Break & Enters and vandalism. The audit identifies areas that need attention on the property to increase security and reduce risk. Upon completion of the assessment, the owner shall be given a copy of the audit. The implementiations of strategies are at the discretion of the property owner.
