Locke Street Construction Updates

The road and sidewalks on Locke Street South between Herkimer and Main Street are being fully re-constructed.  Construction will begin in Spring of 2019 as soon as weather permits. (click here to view construction map)

In anticipation of the construction, utility work needs to be completed.  Alectra, Union Gas, Bell Canada and the City of Hamilton has scheduled work starting in 2018.  As dates and information about the work becomes available, we will post it below.

Throughout the work, residents can expect some loud noise and disruption to traffic.  The work crews are doing their best to limit impact to both traffic and pedestrians. Anyone driving in the area is being asked to reduce driving speeds to help ensure the safety of workers.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Alectra Utilities Notice - Hydro Poles on Locke Street South and the surrounding area streets will be replaced starting in January 2018 with work expected to be complete by Fall of 2018.

Union Gas has contracted NPL to replace the underground gas lines.  Notices have been given to residents directly impacted by the work. Work is expected to be done in the Spring and Summer of 2018.

Bell Canada will be in the area upgrading the communication lines in the Summer of 2018.

City of Hamilton will be working on sewer lining starting in the Fall 2018 and expected to continue throughout the winter.
