Overdose Awareness Day is an international event to recognize and support those who have lost friends or family members to drug overdose, reduce the stigma of overdose deaths, raise awareness of risks and promote PHS’ naloxone program to prevent drug overdose. This theme for this year's event is: Time to Remember. Time to Act.
There will be tables for community organizations, educational opportunities, speakers, and a memorial for those whose lives have been impacted by overdose. There will be a memorial where people can post memorial tributes (pictures, poems, articles, etc) for loved ones they have lost to overdose. There will also be an opportunity to learn about Naloxone (a drug that can reverse an overdose from opioids) and receive training on overdose response.
You are invited to drop by during this time to view the displays, hear the speakers and meet staff involved in overdose prevention.
Please share the information to anyone who may be interested in attending. Click here to open the event poster.
